Astro turned evil on me with the ads... Im cheap and wont pay either. File manager really needs to be a native part of the OS. Just Saying.

Just saying, not all users need the file manager. Not everyone is an Android enthusiast that frequents Android forums despite how often the forum enthusiasts seem to forget this.

Also, you don't have to use and you're not limited to the stock apps. And Astro isn't the only file manager.

EStrongs File Manager is my recc.

... and the OS should have a file explorer built in. It's easy enough to get hold of an app to browse your SD card, but it should be part of the OS.

File Magic is a decent file manager too. Doesn't do everything that Astro or Root Explorer will but it's free and no ads. Made by the same guy that wrote Tasker.
