Install Quickclock and Droid 2 Overclock. Use quickclock to calibrate your phone....FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS. Then export from Quickclock and import them into D2O....I am on 11 and a half hours with a lot of use and 50% battery...and that is being overclocked to 1.250 on my D2 running Liberty 1.5 which alone has improved my battery life.

All of the above requires root though. If you aren't rooted you should research first then if you still want to root check my signature for links.

Change the frequency in which your email, news, weather, and/or social networking updates, turn down the screen brightness, don't use live wallpaper, don't use an automatic task killer.

True, but widgets are fun. :)
I also love live wallpapers. I charge my phone frequently and don't concern myself with battery life.

Last week was the first time I tested my battery. I had the brightness at 50%, Droid X live wallpaper, news and weather updating every 3 hours, gmail updating at will, updated a few apps, surfed the net, ordered cigars, and at my office I sit in a bad coverage area where my phone constantly switches between 1x and 3g.

I took the phone off the charger at 08:15 it was dead at 17:00.

You can increase battery life if reduce screen time-out for 1-2 minutes, this is an amazing effect, it shuts down the display is only when you use it

I downloaded Spare Parts from the market (included in liberty 1.5) when I had issues and couldn't figure out the culprit. You can ck partial wake usage, CPU usage, and several other options to show which apps or processes are killing your battery.

    I cant stress this enough.

I average 18 or so hours with texting, wifi on, reddit use and the nexus one wallpaper.

That seems a little slim honestly.

Do not leave your cell phone near any source of heat, a common place being the dashboard of your car, as extreme heat may affect the

Screebl is good. The accelerometer senses when the phone is being used and keeps the screen on. So you can set the screen timeout to something aggressive like 15 seconds. I carry an extra battery too. Not the chinese knock offs. They only last for a month or two. Anker makes a good battery for $20.

I found juice defender worked amazing for me personally. I ran the balanced profile and allowed it to turn wifi on and off by location. I was on the gingerbread leak with said juice defender profile, using droid2 overclock set to 1200 on ultra low voltage and generally could get 2 days of moderate usage without having to charge it =)

Edit- something I happened to notice by chance also... When I switched from beautiful widgets to fancy widget, I saved a lot of battery...for whatever reason, BW seems to be a major battery drain...

Something else you may consider is using titanium backup to freeze any system apps that youre not using (such as amazon mp3 or the news and weather widget... Its different for everyone, but theres always some stuff that you don't use that can be turned off) keep in mind that you need to be rooted for that to work though

I like Juice Defender too. But I've gotten in the habit of swapping batteries at Lunch everyday. I'm usually at 50%. I read the Li-ion like that. Not always topped off, not dying.

I hadnt ever read up on lithium ion not necessarily preferring a full charge or being close to dead. I did know that they're different in that you don't have to worry about short-cycling them. That's interesting though, where did you find that information? That may convince me to get a second battery for my phone as well
