Home and settings buttons not working properly in gingerbread

My home and settings buttons on my OG Droid are unresponsive in all the gingerbread Roms I have tried. Sometimes it 3 or 4 times to get them to go. I get haptic feedback everytime but doesn't go home or open settings.
Any ideas? ?
