Help with an app....

I downloaded the medscape app from the market, but it will not download the references, just says internet connectivity interrupted, please try again. Medscape says I must have adfree or an adblocker app on my phone and be rooted - to my knowledge I don't have any app like that and I was rooted through z4root but unrooted my phone. Is there a way I can check for those apps and remove them if they are indeed there? Thanks in advance
