Galaxy S3 going to support world phone use?

I have an employee here with an upgrade eligible line that wants to move to a Galaxy S3 but travels a ton. Is/does/will the S3 support world phone use?

Verizon has said that the S3 will support global roaming after a future update, but they never said when that update would arrive. Currently, there is a way to enable it with a fair amount of hacking, but only those who are comfortable with the process should try it. Most people should just wait for Verizon to enable it officially (whenever that might be).
