Force closes on factory installed apps after VZN update 2.2.1

I have a Droid1 with 2.2.1 version Android from VZN. Since the update I have multiple fc's, home screen with no icons for up-to and over a minute, and delays in almost all app initiation. I have most of my trouble from factory installed apps. I'm not tech smart, so please if you have solution, give me step by step instructions. I need to keep my D1 until November, but if this can't be resolved I'll have to punt.
