Factory Reset Questions.

I'm trying to fix an issue that I had because of the update the recently came out. I was rooted stock and the damn thing updated before I got a chance to cancel the update. I don't mind starting from scratch but I want to stick with the stock. I'm guessing that the factory reset would allow me to start over completely. Is this true?

I'm talking about in the HTC Bootloader screen and not in CW recovery. I wouldn't have any problems doing this since I have CW on there now would I? Just don't want to brick the phone.

Not on mandatory updates... those are forced thru... I know its complete BS, I hate that too...
