I have a 6 month old Razr Maxx that was crushed yesterday with some non-backed up photos and whatsapp conversations on them.

I understand that the Razr Maxx's memory is completely internal and not sim-based. While the phone fell apart in the trauma, it is not clear whether the internal memory is damaged or unreadable. The phone turns a green light and the phone's drive is recognized and being read by the computer, before it says "driver not found."

Is it possible to remove the internal memory of the phone to recover the files? Does anyone have experience with how to do this? Looking at sites such as this (Motorola Droid RAZR Teardown - iFixit it would seem that removal of the internal memory might be possible.

Has anyone seen this done?
Anyone with this level of expertise, kindly advise.
Thank you!

If your PC is at least seeing the phone, try installing the Motorola Device manager software, available (for free from Moto) here:

Where can I download the USB drivers for my device

That might load the drivers that your PC needs to use the phone as a USB device and let you copy the files you need from it.
