emails just sit in outbox

Why are my emails just staying in the outbox and not sending. Seems like the only way I can get them to send is to turn the phone off and back on. I am using the setting "check every 5 minutes" also.

you can try and clear your cache and data, go to settings applications,manage applications, filter all, gmail storage, then clear both. hope this helps

I deleted the account and started over from scratch, seems to be working now.
