Email apps - everything so far has some issue

Droid X, popmail acct

1. Email that comes with X: messages unpredictably stick in outbox with only menu option "delete" (BUT opens PDF attachments no problem)
2. K9: stuck permanently opening on trash directory since first time I accessed that. Can't open pdf's
3.Maildroid: per error msg, "you need OI File Mgr to open this file type" dl'd OI File Mgr still can't open PDF's,

Now what??

Using K9 myself

What version of K9 mail are you using? you might try a different version from the developer website:

Not sure where I find that. I also tried uninstalling. Dl acrobat reading. reinstlling k9. it opened the pdf once then quit working again.
Will go to developers site and give one last try.
I like MailDroid's features better, but no use if can't open attachments

check out the links in the first post. They report success with this issue in the past. Some of it may work for you.
