easy way to toggle background sync?

Hi,

I learned that turn off background sync can improve the battery life significantly.

However turn this function on and off is really troublesome! To do that you need go to Setting > Accounts & sync>background syn.

Is there a easy way to toggle it on and off (like put a shortcut on the home screen)? Haven't figured it out yet.

Long press home > Widgets > Power Control.

2nd icon from the right controls sync.

Thanks! However it will not turn off the background syn. It only turns off the auto sync.
