E-mail Recv'd Only Upon Refresh

I have two e-mail accounts set up on my Droid X. One is the Gmail account we are required to set up, the other is my Road Runner account. Until recently, I had no issues receiving e-mails. Now, I still get my e-mails but they do not appear until I go into each account and 'refresh'. What setting do I need to change that will allow e-mails to appear and notify me when they are recv'd?

First of all, use K9 instead of the stock email client. The gmail app is ok.

Make sure all of your sync settings are on and background data is on.

I use K-9 so I can say that in that instance it has to do with the polling. If it's set to never, you do it manually. Mine is set to 15 minutes so I get a slight lag but I'm not completely killing the battery.

I have K9 set to poll every 10 minutes and it doesn't use much battery power. Maybe I'll try 5.
