It was an awesome year for smartphones. The Note made a triumphant return, Apple decided to join the rest of the industry in a surprising move with the iPhone X. Google for the second year in a row sported the best camera on the market. We had a few new comers both making a splash in their own ways. Razer coming to the game late showing manufacturers how smooth android is suppose to run and how to put a real battery in the phone.
Essential got the community excited only to be let down by the camera. LG did some big things with the V30 and HTC managed to find themselves getting squeezed out of the conversation thanks to other phones doing bigger things. But it was not all bad as we saw the HTC squeeze function brought to the Pixel 2 (XL), which is a feature that can get in the way at times. We cannot forget about One Plus or some of the other smaller phone manufacturers. And kudos to Motorola for staying with the Moto Mods another year. Oh and it's fair to say that Google now understands the importance of a good display making a good phone great.

Also thanks to @DroidModderX, @Preach2k, and @PereDroid for keeping us up to date with the latest news and rumors for the 2017 phones. As we look back at some of the conversations we had, disappointments and excitement shared. With the top rumor being the under glass fingerprint sensor taking up the large part of the 2017 rumors and speculations. It will be interesting to see where we go in 2018.
