The built in FM Radio will play through the phone speaker, at least on the Droid X. You still have to have the headphones plugged in for an antenna, however, once it's playing, look on the menu and you should see the option to play through the speaker.

TuneIn Radio has a LOT of local stations. At least it does in Detroit.

I use radiotime to get alot of my local stations. works great.

What if you plug in speakers instead of headphones? Should work, right? Better sound quality to boot. I realize that doesn't help if you want to use it as a portable radio.
