Droid 4 Physical keyboard screen help

When my physical keyboard is slid down my screen stops working, i can see what i am typing but i can use the screen until i slide my keyboard back up, i would like to know if this is a permanent problem or is it something i can fix. thanks for the help in advance!

I began to experience the same problem with my Droid 4 two days ago (11/09/13). The only difference is that my screen goes completely blank and cannot be accessed in any way when the QWERTY slide out keyboard is engaged. I too am anxiously looking for a solution.
