Droid 2 Global SD card not reading available memory correctly

Tried to put a 16gb from my Droid and a 6gb SD card a new Droid 2 Global and the memory read as if it was an 8gb card in both instances. Talked to tech support and they sent another brand new phone with the same result. The 16gb I put some movies and music on, a few gb worth, and it showed as having a couple gb left of space. Also tried reformatting on the phone and it reformatted to the same 7.4 gb. Tech said they have not heard of this issue. Anyone else have the same problem or a fix?

Did your droid have apps2sd or any file ext system? You will have to go back and delete all partitions. Otherwise I wouldn't have a clue.

Mine is showing up as a 16 gb card just find. Perhaps use a tool like gParted and see what the cards partition table looks like.
