Digitizer just derped out?

A few nights ago during the Rangers/Devils game (LGR!) I was texting my friend when all of a sudden, my screen starts going wonky. Okay, turn screen off and on again. From that moment forth, the screen does not respond to any touch. If I carefully slide the phone out ever so slightly, I can get it to wonk out, but it still doesn't respond to touch.

How difficult is it to switch out the digitizer of the Droid 3? I'm back on my Droid 2 Global (which honestly, I kinda like more ) but it's got a shattered screen, hardly usable.
