D1 and gingerbread

I heard that the D1 will not get the gingerbread update when it rolls out.

Any truth to that rumor??

Well, glad you looked but we've discussed this many times and there will be Gingerbread for the Droid in some form or another.

I believe the OP is asking about an official Gingerbread update. That, I seriously doubt we'll see on the Droid 1 simply due to it's lack of system RAM. However, with the Droid 1 being as open as it is, I forsee the development community sticking around for quite awhile. I'm confident that we will see a custom Gingerbread ROM at the very least, if not versions beyond that.
