I am unable to add custom notifications to my phone. I searched and followed the instructions from https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48519/~/droid-x---ringtones but for whatever reason, the sound file will not display under the notifications for text messaging. If I browse to the directory using root explorer, it will show that the file is there and all the folders are correct but for whatever reason, the file will still not show as a choice for notification sounds.
Even funnier, there was a sound for Facebook that was somehow already placed in the notifications folder which would work correctly but I could not get the sound file I added to work. I have attempted to delete all the folders and re-add them using root explorer instead of Windows explorer while connected, restarted the phone multiple times and even have taken out the battery but still to no avail.

I've double-checked the spelling but here is an image of the directories in case it will help.

Thanks for any help.

Any ideas please?

Edit:
I was able to solve the problem. I deleted the entire media folder, removed the USB cord then shutdown the phone and took out both the battery and sd card. I let the phone sit for a bit before reinserting everything and after the phone was done booting and seemed like everything loaded, I plugged the cord back in. I then ensured the connection was set to "USB Mass Storage" mode, recreated the folders, transferred the desired file and "safely disconnected" by choosing the Windows option before removing the cord. The sound then magically appeared as an option :D
