SuperSU has been helping Android fans manage super user administrator access on their devices for the past 5.5 years! Boy how time flies. Chainfire, the app's developer, is also known for many other projects like Flashfire, DSLR Controller, and one of my favorites 500 Firepaper. He announced about two years ago that the project would be transferred to CCMT and that he would eventually stop working on SuperSU.

After more than 100million downloads on Google Play Chainfire has officially announced his retirement from SuperSU. Chainfire will likely wrap up work on a few features of the app before stepping away permanently. He will work on the app in an advisory capacity until his contract with CCMT runs out in February.

SuperSU isn't going anywhere. CCMT will continue development on the project, and it seems the project is in good hands. Chainfire will use his free time and extra mental resources to pursue new projects, and will continue working on his other apps. We here at Droidforums wish Chainfire all the best in his upcoming ventures. We can't wait to see what he comes up with next!
