fascinate newbie

I just got the fascinate. Can I use a generic car charger from ebay? Also can I use the usb charger that comes with the fascinate in my vehicle which has a usb port for a ipod/mp3 player. And is there a problem with putting the phone in a case with a magnetic closure. I heard that keeps the phone in desktop mode and drains the battery. And lastly what is the talk about disabling the bing widget as soon as you get the phone. Thanks in advance for all your help. This is my first smart phone!!
