Can't read epub books I've downloaded.

I have some books that are not a book/nook or amazon kindle product. They are an epub format that I've downloaded from some generic sites such as diesel books, ebooks, ect..
When I saved them to my nook they showed up without a problem.
I've copied them onto my micro sd card on my phone but cannot find these books anywhere. How do I get an epub book loaded onto my phone so I can read it?

I am not on the up and up on epubs or any ebook as for as that goes, but I would start here first:

When all else fail search "epub " in the playstore ...

That rule applies for future references also...
