Wait the very first time that you ran the utility did it do so successfully or did you always get the.. "system cannot find specified files"?

Because I've been reading that after the utility you have to manually remove superuser.

If it never ran successfully then I have one last thing to try.

Delete Droid 4 utility from your computer. Restart your computer.
Restart your phone.

Re-download the utility and extract it to your desktop.

Plug your phone into a usb on your pc that you haven't used yet and let it download the drivers again.

Then right click on the utility and click "run as administrator"

Also I wasn't getting irritated with you. Just the fact that I can't get this figured out.

If it ran successfully the first time. You may just need to manually remove superuser from the phone.

I'll look up how yo do it now

Ugh google is drawing blanks. Can you try running the utility but choosing root instead?

I saw someone was having trouble getting superuser off and they re rooted and the uprooted again. Worth a shot

Try doing it without extracting the zip. Just save the .zip to your desktop and DON'T run as admistrator

Even though you didn't freeze anything did you maybe delete any of the bloatware apps while you were rooted?

In any case, I've come to the conclusion that the Droid 4 is possibly the hardest phone to work on. There is hardly any information that I can find.

I'll search for D4 related things and it wants to pull up stuff about the Razr or bionic.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. Maybe somebody with some experience with the phone can be of better help?

Here's something possibly stupid.

Have you tried suspending root with Voodoo Rootkeeper and not unrooting conventionally?
