Can't get text messaging apps to open after update

Those of us that started with a clean slate(factory reset), have mostly had no issues and it seems to be the best solution for most unfortunately if clearing cache has no effect.

I have been using ICS for several months and so has my wife without any issues whatsoever. I'm convinced that FDR is a necessary evil, especially after the RAZR ICS rollout fiasco that a few of my friends suffered through.

Just my opinion, its a PITA but will change the outlook of those having major issues with ICS.

same thing happened to me.

had to do a reset.

everything is fine now..though the battery is a little lame.

i tried that this morning but the clear cache and data was greyed out. what worked for me was disabling the stock text messaging app (from that same menu), and then re-enabling it. after i did this, all my texts loaded

Tried this (and everything else in this thread) and still will not load my texts or allow me to send or receive new texts. just sits there and has the spiny loading circle forever.
