Can I root without a computer?

Hey all, I"m new to these forums. Just got a d2g as a replacement from insurance. Have always thought about rooting but my only computer is my d2g. Can i root? And if so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Download z4root: [APP] z4root - xda-developers
Install It using a file manager. You may have to allow installing from untrusted sources.
Click on Permanent root. If it doesn't work the first time reboot by pressing Alt+Shift+Del and try again.

Wright thanks for your advice. I actually started having an overheating problem with my d2g and because it was an insurance replacement i talked them into giving me a Droid X. Thanks again for your help.

I wont get my x until Monday. But I got one for the wife yesterday and set it up. Had gb installed already and wow it was nice. Ill give an update when I get mine and get a chance to work it out.

Just went from D1 to D2G and I love it. My wife has D2 and I much rather prefer global.
