Can I delete my backup assistant data?

Just got a new phone and would like to unclutter my contants. Is there anyway to get rid of the old data?

If you've registered on verizonwireless.com you can log in and manage your contacts from the website. After that make sure you sync to your phone to complete the process on your phone.
