I'm going to the Caribbean and want to make free/cheap calls back to US. Is there a wifi based way to use the Verizon Droid in airplane mode to avoid roaming charges?

Fring or SIP Droid, but you will need a SIP provider or SIP PBX with local access lines you can connect to (I think Fring has SIP to landline at decent cost. Haven't looked at them in a while).
