Black screen problem.

I HAVE searched for an answer to this but I can't seem to find one. I downloaded a live background and now my screens black. When i restart it, it does normal and I can unlock it like usual(swiping the puzzle piece into the slot) and then I see nothing. At the locked screen I can see that I've missed two calls,and I have an unread message. After I unlock it the background is black and I can't do anything. I can slide down the bar at the top and try opening my unread messages/missed calls but the screen goes back to black and I can slide it down again. Please help.

This exact thing happened to me today. Here is how I fixed it.

Boot your phone in safe mode. Here is how to do that:

Droid 2: Enable Safe Mode

Then you can get into applications and delete the stupid wallpaper that locked you up!
