Thought bout tryin root bionic, will it affect ota update for ics

Nope, you might lose the root access from the OTA, but it shouldn't mess anything up. Good luck.

Well apparently some people lost root with the 4ever from .901, so if that's the case I'd be willing to bet they'll patch it up again and you'll lose it again with the ICS update. Only time will tell though...

If you root and don't change anything (flash custom ROM, freeze or rename bloat, etc) - you will be notified of an update and you can take without unrooting (as noted above, you would possibly lose root)...however, if you flash a custom ROM, you would have to restore your initial backup (first backup made after rooting) in order to have everything in place to take the update. If you have froze or renamed bloat, you would need to restore that as well for the update to be successful.
