so what's up guys. basically, i got my droid2 last week, and finally got it rooted. well, i finally got gummyjar on my sdcard, and i unzipped and installed it via bootstrap. well, when i hit reboot, it sent me into a bootloop, with the gummyjar logo.

i backed it up before i did this, but i can't get to that menu. is there anyway i can get to the menu to restore? i need your help asap, this is my only phone.

thank you very much for help!

Pull the battery, wait 30 seconds, reboot into recovery, do a full wipe, boot normally. If it still loops you installed the wrong version for your system version.

You don't. You flashed the wrong version for your system version onto your phone. It happens if you don't pay attention. :) No worries, though. You need to flash the latest SBF onto your phone via RSD Lite, do another full wipe, and you should boot into the stock OS. You'll need to reroot (z4root should set you right up, or follow the link in my sig) and try again.

That's stock recovery. It can't use unsigned update.zips.

Okay, that moves us to booting into the bootloader. That's a battery pull + up arrow.

Make sure it says OK to program and tell me what version you have.

You'll need access to a PC with administrator rights, the latest drivers from Moto, and a program called RSD Lite at this point.

I've told you twice. :)

Do you have the latest drivers from Motorola installed on a PC you have Administrator access to? Do you have RSD Lite installed and ready to go? :)

If not you have some work to do. Start with reading this thread;

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-labs/73579-using-rsd-lite-flash-sbf-file-correctly.html

The only real difference is you want RSD Lite 4.9 or 4.8 if you can't find 4.9 and you don't need to worry about "catching" the boot, IIRC.

Next up, drivers on the PC.

USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

Thing at the top, install it, run it, install drivers.

Now you need RSD Lite. This is 4.8.

Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Now you'll need the SBF. Have you accepted or forced any updates recently?

By the way, you'll want to power your phone down while you read and prep. The phone doesn't charge in the bootloader and you'll need some good battery life to do the flashing.
