I was playing dead trigger and had apps downloading in the background on 4g. I backed out to give my phone a rest and saw the insane temp. Won't the phone normally shut itself off if it could be damaged from heat or should I be worried. It's always in a thick otterbox with extended battery and I know this phone tends to get hot but that seems a bit high

Mine got real hot the other day, I noticed the orange/green light, though orange is a hard color for me to see, so I thought I just had a message. Backed out of the game I was playing (super stickman golf) took it off the charger, still flashing. Then I remembered about the over heating warning. Looked and it was at 125. So I took the case off and set it in the shade for a while, about 10 minutes later went inside and sat it right under the air conditioner. A few minutes after that, I got a tone of some sort, no notification, but the battery was back to 90 degrees. Been fine since.

If I'm not mistaken 140 is about the temp that solders begin to break down
