The jury is still out on whether this name is as lame as it seems, but we will leave that for you to decide. ZTE just announced their newest phablet device, and lo-and-behold, they actually called it a phablet. Its official name is the ZTE Iconic Phablet. It would appear that no one told them the word phablet was just a made up media buzz word. At any rate, whether you like the name or not, this phablet may not really be worth your time anyway. It's specs are mediocre at best:
  • 5.7-inch 720p HD touchscreen
  • 8 MP rear camera with LED flash
  • 1 MP front camera
  • Dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 8 GB of internal storage
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi
  • 3,200 mAh battery
  • Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
  • 4G LTE and CDMA
It looks like the device might actually make it to the U.S. sometime this year, although pricing and availability have yet to be released. It will have to be very cheap for any consumer to consider.
