This is a pic from one of the previous rumors on this device.

We have a new rumor regarding the HTC 5-inch device we have heard about over the past couple of months. Supposedly, this new phablet will be named the DLX. Furthermore, we have a spec list leak for the device:
  • 5-inch 1920×1080 Full HD touchscreen
  • 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • 1.5 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB storage
  • 12 MP rear camera
  • 2 MP front-facing camera
  • 2,500 mAh non-removable battery
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
These specs are pretty impressive. We suspect we will hear something more official either this month or next.

Note 2 > this

seems they dropped the ball on the specs and its not even out yet; why not just 2G of ram and why only a 2500mah no removal battery when HTC is already known for horrible battery life.

This seems to be why HTC is having problems. Cut a corner here, cut back there. Why not give this a flagship type processor and battery.

I dont see how you guys are complaining about this phone. It's a freaking QUAD core processor... on a phone. Im sure the camera will be up there in quality. 1.5gigs of RAM... do you guys really need anymore for a phone?
I know the battery is only 2500mah, which seems fairly big. I know the Note 2's battery is a lot bigger, but that is also powering a 5.5" screen. Jelly bean included of course.

I dont see whats wrong with this phone.

Sorry didn't mean to complain. All I'm saying is I remember when all I wanted was a HTC product. Now they seem one step behind the competitor. I was saying this could be why they are have problems. Maybe they should step up the game just a little and lead.

Hey no worries man.. I wasn't pointing fingers at just you. You are right in a way. There was a point where I wished that the HTC Evo was on Verizon and was totally jealous... Now I could care less that we didnt get the HTC one X. Samsung has definitely been the one to be dishing out the best Android phones the past 1.5 years.

I dont think they so much dropped the ball with this upcoming phone, I think it will definitely be a beast, Just like that Motorola one coming out (and that Sony)... I think its more of just Samsung going above and beyond whats out right now. If you think about it.. 5.5 inches for a phone screen is ridiculous haha, but Samsung is doing it.

I agree with you about Samsung and I'm not usually their biggest fan. But, they have gone way above and beyond, blowing everyone else out of the water . The Note II is the first phone I've thought about buying outright in a long time. Well other than to keep my unlimited! LOL

Well,Im complaining, hunk a junk:p.Those are nice specs, wished they would've stepped up and made it 2 GB RAM,and give it the MAXX's batt and you(HTC) are coming strong to the hole.

Can anyone explain to me where you keep phones with screens this big? I put mine in my back pocket, and the first time I sit down with this phone, I'd crack the screen.

Are you all fat or something?

I agree that screen sizes are getting too large. (The fat comment was unnecessary though ;)).

I'd love a new Nexus phone with top of the line specs with a 4.3 or 4.5 inch screen.
