I've noticed in the last week or so since the last security update that some of my notifications have been slow. I've went through and turned off battery optimization for these programs without any Improvement.

One program notifies me buy alert when I get certain emails another is ring oh my front door bell.

Something else I noticed is when I snap on mods I don't get the confirmation sound until up to 5 minutes later.

Additionally when I try to install apps it lags for several minutes sometimes until I restart my phone and I get a screen with the same lag when uninstalling apps.

Thanks, Darrin Kb8ecf

Welcome to the Forum! . It sounds like you have something bogging down your phone, possibly an installed app. Or an app that isn't compatible with Oreo? How does it perform if you run in Safe Mode for a while? Safe Mode is a diagnostic tool and Play Store apps don't run or load; and can be used to help determine if issues are being caused by Play Store apps.

@me just sayin. Interested in learning how to wipe the cache partition. The link only gets me as far as another forums page, not the specific post

Ok....got it.... However, the "wipe cache" option doesn't exist since Oreo. Thought you might have discovered something new....
Thanks anyways!

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry I should have mentioned I'm running 8.0 with Jan security patch.

It doesn't sound like this is a common problem. I will try safe mode and have already deleted several apps and cleared the cache of the remaining apps. Sounds like I make be doing a factory reset as much as I hate to do it.

Thanks.
