Paid 9 bucks for it.
Still not one nick, scratch or ding on the watch itself.

That looks like some of my expensive metal bands. I am hard on watches. But owning a smart watch has made me be a little more careful.

You know what's funny...I used to be the same way with phones. Always used to just let them drop out cause I only spent $100 on them and I always got indestructible phones. Now...shoot I barely let them out of my sight and always super protective. I wonder if I'll be the same if I get a watch.

My stock rubber band is definitely showing wear around the edges, but pretty much in the places that I pointed out as starting to show wear in another thread. Basically, it's just the rubber getting kind of smoothed down. It has kind of a rough texture to it, but not where it's been rubbing on my desk and elsewhere. Not anything that bothers me yet. Just shows signs that I've worn it every day since I got it.

I'll be keeping this in mind if/when I finally decide to check out a different band. Still not a horrible investment for $9.

I'm actually not that careful with my G Watch anymore. I've bashed it on metal door frames at work so hard a few times that I was afraid to look down because I knew the screen would be cracked. Still no real dings or scratches on the face/body. I've been reaching up into the spaces above the drop ceiling at work with it on as well lately to run cables. Not the most dangerous thing in the world, but there are plenty of places to snag it on up there and it's still looking pretty darn good. Could probably use a thorough cleaning of some sort, but even just wiping the finger prints off with a t-shirt makes it shine.

You still have that original band? Jeez, what are you waiting for?
I certainly don't care for the $9 I paid. Might get another $9 one, too. :D
I'm not remotely careful with mine, either. I kind of dare it to scratch or break actually. ALWAYS do dishes with it. ALWAYS bathe my son with it. I have hit the face pretty hard on some pretty hard objects, and not one scratch. It's tough.

I still have the original band also. I have been eyeing some metal bands on Amazon. Does it fit in the charging cradle easily with a metal band? You might have answered that once before...I can't remember.

Yes, I did, and yes, it does. Posted pics somewhere, too.
Just wraps around the cradle. I guess it's not QUITE as easy to recharge your watch when you have a closed band. Because it's just SO easy to drop it on the cradle. So many people just can't be bothered to do that grueling task of charging a watch every night. You actually have to PICK UP the dock to put the watch in. Horrible, I know, but I struggle through it daily. So, if you don't want to have to deal with picking up that little square every day, you may want to get a 2 strap kind.

:D :D

I scanned Amazon for a new band a couple of different times, but never really had one catch my eye. I was thinking about a black metal one like the one you got, but I'm sure I'd have to figure out how to remove links from one. If the little girls at JC Penney's can do it, I'm sure I could as well, but I've never actually done it, so I might have to buy two bands. Haha!

The more I look at the wear marks on the original band, the more I'm considering browsing my options again. Think I'll invest in the tool that PC linked in another thread as well. I've popped plenty of watch bands back on with a tiny screw driver, but I figure it can't hurt to have the proper tool for the job, especially since they don't cost much either.

Too funny! I think I remember the pics now. I think i can manage to pick up the cradle and put the watch in it. It is asking a lot, but I can probably handle it. Good to know that it does still charge fine, I think I might do some Amazon shopping today. Thanks!
