Hey folks. I have a unique wifi issue whereby only when attempting to connect to my university's wireless network (secure or not) my phone freezes solid for about 15 minutes and then reboots. Does the same if I try to turn off the wifi radio, as long as I am in range of university signal. I have to walk out to the parking lot until I'm out of range, boot the phone and turn off wifi to be able to use the phone at all. If I show up at work with WIFI on, forget it, phone is useless (and the battery will die).
More details: Casio C771 Commando. Phone connected fine with no problems for last three months with Android version 2.2.*, then four days ago it updated to Android version 2.3.3 and ever since the university wifi has caused it to freeze. At first I didn't know what was causing the freeze up, took it to Verizon in a frozen condition (twice) and they are now sending me another handset. I'm hopeful that will resolve the issue, but I'd prefer to keep the phone I have.
