Words with friends battery killer

I can't believe what a huge battery hog this app is....it's cool but 42% of my battery yesterday went to this thing...and I wasn't even using it that much...anyone else having this happen...?

I'm pretty sure that this is the app that's been transmitting 20 to 30 Mb of data PER HOUR on my D1. I wish I knew just what it was transmitting. Talk about a battery killer though...

I found that if you go into the settings in the app and set the background Notifications to never... it uses a lot less juice..
