Wireless Tether to PS3?

I tried using wireless tether for root users on my Droid 2, so I could connect my ps3 to my phones 3g, but my ps3 cannot pick up my phones wifi broadcast, I tried changing through all the different channels available on wireless tether but nothing works. My phone simply does not show up at all.

How can I hook up my ps3 to my phones wireless tether signal?

where can I find an infrastructure mode wireless tether app?

Also, I heard that its possible to enable the Verizon 3g hotspot app, without being charged the monthly fee. Any idea on how to do this?
