wireless tether problems on droid 1 with 2.2

Hello. I recently rooted my motorola droid 1 after doing the 2.2 ota software update. I wantd to be able to wireless tether to my comp. I installed universal androot, everything went fine. I then installed "wireless tether for rooted users." I used it four or five times with no problem. Then I went to use it and it won't work. I removed wireless tether app from my phone with no problems. Then I tried unrooting my phone, but universal androot told me that I "still have the power." I then did a factroy reset hoping that would help, but it didn't. I then noticed this "superuser permission app" that I cannot remove. Any ideas? I appreciate any help i can get.

My guess is that this happened after the 2.2 upgrade from frg01b to frg22d. frg22d breaks root (you no longer have root regardless of what it says) and you need a new way to root like this: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-labs/74028-root-droid-1-regardless-os-version.html.

It may look difficult but it is actually simple if you follow each step carefully. Good luck.

Thank you very much for your help. So even though I added a couple days after I got 2.2 (and it worked great for a while) 2.2 still ruined it? If I follow that procedure will it tell me how to get all of those things listed that I need? I don't know what most of those things are.
