Wireless charging pad

Understood. Thanks for the feedback. I did it only after verifying the amperage and voltage ratings of the turbo charger met the specifications required by the pad input. There could be another technical issue between the two devices that isn't apparent and contributes to the heat.

Very good point. I'm sure the pad wasn't designed with fast chargers in mind, so there might be a technical disconnect there. Hopefully a different charger will help with the heat.

UPDATE:

I'm not much for ordering things, so I went on an all-out search for any charging pads I could find locally. The only one I was able to find was the samsung mini. It worked far better than I expected, but positionally it as VERY picky. I have since caved and ordered the Tylt VU. It should be here today. I'll update this, or the OP with my findings. I'm really impressed with wireless charging though. I had no idea it was so good now. My phone charged from ~20% to full in about 3 hours. That is PLENTY fast for me. I plan to toss it on the charger at night and let it go.

I have a couple of LG WC300's around the house. My 2013 Nexus 7 can get a little warm when charging. My S5's with factory QI back plate create very little heat.

The ANKER Ultra-Slim wireless charging pad is working really well for me. The pad does not beep. It has an led on the side, solid green when powered, flashing blue/green when charging. It works with my tpu case. It is also slim enough to slip between my phone and universal stand to charge my phone 1221141055.webp 1221141055a.webp

The incipio is just, very finicky... It has a little bit of a learning curve.. And that's learning where to position it.. After you find the sweet spot.. You're all good.

Steer clear of this guy:

Does NOT work on Droid Turbo. This is specifically the T2 model. There's a newer T3 but after getting one model that is 3 coil and "works on all devices" I certainly won't be buying that brand again. Too bad. The dock itself is really nice.
Back to Amazon you go.

Not much recent info in this thread.. Anyone have anymore input on Qi docks that hold your phone upright?

Tylt vu is awesome.. Works like a charm for the turbo.. Holds the device upright..

Told a buddy of mine about this and he asked what type of charger did I try it with. He pointed out someone suggested you need to use a 1.5 amp charger on the Amazon "Questions" section. Er.... the one I used was an old .850 amp charger.

Do you know what peak temp the battery gets up to with that wireless charger? I stopped using my charger when I saw the temp get up to 114 deg.... I want to preserve my battery longevity for as long as possible.
