Wired Tether

So I got wired tether and for some reason it's not working right for me. I Google'd for solutions,but can't find any answers really.

I got a rooted Incredible with the stock kernel. I'm trying to tether on my desktop (Win7 Ultimate) and my cr-48 notebook since I heard it works for the cr-48.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I found some results on this forum, but none of them seemed to work (I know this issue was brought up a couple weeks back)

I have Easytether and that works, also Wireless tether works as well (with a couple dropped connections here and there).

I also have a cr48 and would like to get wired tether working on my Droid 2. When I try to run Wired Tether it says "Unsupported Kernel! Sorry ut your kernel does not have the necessary features for tethering." Is there any way to work around this? Wireless Tether works but is painfully slow. When I had a Droid 1 Wired Tether worked with the cr48 perfect.
