I use btunes just because it has lock screen controls, not sure if others have a similar function but I can't live without it. It pops up a control widget above the lock screen as soon as you turn the screen on, allows you to go to next or previous track play/pause as well as seeing the album art and song info without ever needing to unlock the phone. Can also swipe the artwork to go next/previous track which can be easier than pushing the next/previous icon buttons most of the time. This only pops up when you have music playing of course... theres also a replacement normal screen widget the same exact size (4x1) of the stock to put somewhere.

btunes also has some other features that the stock player does not have, such as downloading artwork and adding multiple playlists/songs to the "now playing" playlist

The stock one would be ok for me if I could figure out the shuffles, the differences, and how to make them work. I've searched the threads and all I got was headache. Hope this isn't considered OT.

what do you mean? Party shuffle shuffles ALL of your songs, the normal shuffle only shuffles the songs in that playlist. So if you went and clicked on an album and then pressed shuffle it will only shuffle the songs in that album.
