wifi turns off after a few minutes while screen off

this has been happening since yesterday and when i turn the screen on it connects to the router again. ive always ran it on performance mode. no battery saver. i looked in settings tried reboot but nothing. seem like a sleep option for wifi but i cant find none and i never touched anything.

Under wifi settings, hit the menu button, then hit Advanced. Set wifi sleep to never. That should keep it from turning off.

Yup what ^he^ said. Default setting is to turn WiFi off when the phone sleeps.

I had the same problem. Despite having "Never" sleep selected for Wifi, when the screen went off for a while, so did wifi. So far, this has worked. I first checked "Never when plugged in" and saved it under the menu. I then checked "Never" and Saved. I then rebooted the phone and so far it hasn't turned itself off.

I like the "turn off wifi when screen shuts off" setting. Setting it to "Never" seemed to run down the battery more with my phone and operating conditions. I keep wifi toggled on all the time, by the way.
