WiFi to 4G ?

So some ROMs manage to switch from WiFi to 4G almost instantly while others seem to take a few seconds to even a minute.

My question is this, is there any value I can play with to shorten the amount of time my phone takes to switch from WiFi to 4G? Never really messed with this before. I am running XenonHD, the latest 4.1.2 build with the franco milestone 6 kernal, and it seems to take a good 30-60 seconds before I reacquire a 4G signal, other than that my phone loves this ROM and it is running very fast and stable with great battery life.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you use the same kernel on all ROMs? A lot of WiFi related things are on the kernel level. Apart from what binaries and drivers they used to compile the ROM, I'm not sure what else would be causing the issue.

I actually thought of that after posting this and switches to francos nightly #295. Seems snappier now. I'll do more testing but it seems like the kernel will fix my issues.
