Wifi Tethering

Has anyone found a app yet that works with this phone for free WiFi tethering?

I suggest trying Tethering Widget (developed by Hi-Develop), you can get it from the play store (free).
I can't say for sure it will work on the Maxx but it functioned just fine on my Galaxy Nexus when foxfi ceased to work, of course if you're on the "share everything" plan then just use the phones hot-spot feature.

Yeah I see that (hadn't tried it on a Maxx), one of the differences I see between the two phones is in the settings the Nexus list's "portable" hotspot, and the Maxx lists as a "mobile" hotspot...May be semantics between Samsung and Motorola, but may also be a software/hardware configuration difference...

PdaNet+ will work via USB (not sure about the blue tooth connection) so there's at least an option for right now.
