Bought RAZR MAXX couple of days ago, and noticed that WiFi connection is not so good. WiFi router is in the living room, and when I'm in a bedroom connection is not stable and phone looses it quite often.
My old Nexus One works perfectly and never looses WiFi signal.

Is it something that can be fixed via update, or it'a a hardware problem?

Try rebooting the router. I usually get pretty good wifi signal on my Razr Maxx.

I second that. Maybe try and check for firmware update for the router. Fire up your PC, go to your browser. 192.168.1.1 password and user. If u didn't change it password is password and user is admin. Try to locate firmware tab and update it...

I did it to mine and saw better signal and strength.

Check and see if it's 20mhz or 40mhz channel width. I remember my E3000 with DD-WRT was having some sort of issue with that on 2.4ghz and my DROID 3

Tried all options. Looks like it works better when "802.11n only" mode is on; but I have quite old laptop that requires 802.11g, so it's not a solution.
Anyway, old Google Nexus One works perfectly with any settings, so it's not just router issue.

So maybe old devices had better WiFi chip?..
