Wifi Connection issues on Fascinate

I have been having a lot of issues connecting to my wifi network at home with the Fascinate. It detects the network, I put in my password, then it hangs on "Obtaining an IP address". The only way I got it to work was to change my network to only allow certain MAC addresses then add the MAC address from the phone. Then it connects. I would like to remove the exclusivity but not sure how to get the phone to connect otherwise. I am using a netgear dual band router with dual encryption allowed. My laptop and Wii connect without issue, why not the phone. My wife's Fascinate acts the same way.
