Who has the most bloatware?

We in this community on several occasions displayed how we felt about bloat. For years we have ragged on carriers and phone manufacturers for loading our phones with their non-removable bloat. To make matters worse companies like Samsung will sell a 16 GB phone that has only 9 GB usable with no external SD Card. Quite frankly I personally grew tired of it and decided to go Nexus as a way to protest all this bloat.

Over the years we started seeing more and more Google apps and services installed on our phones and I personally overlooked it as many of those apps I used. But as the apps continue to pile up with the only option being to disable or root (actually there is a third option), I think it is time to call out Google for their bloat. Whether I use the app or not, that should not be the reason that an app is stuck on my device. With Google trying to take more control of Android I fear we will be forced to have all of Google's bloat + manufacturer's bloat+ carrier bloat.

Currently right now I have the following google apps:
  1. Android Pay
  2. Docs
  3. Drive
  4. Gmail
  5. Google (search)
  6. Google +
  7. Hangouts
  8. Keep
  9. Maps
  10. News & Weather
  11. Photos
  12. Play Books
  13. Play Games
  14. Play Movies & TV
  15. Play Music
  16. Play Newsstand
  17. Project Fi (I can not remove it)
  18. Sheets
  19. Slides
  20. Wallet (I can uninstall)
  21. Youtube
With the addition of Chromecast, I have 34 Google apps and of those 34 24 I use. So let's compare the bloat. Name your device and carrier then list the number of non-removable apps you have on your phones. Also of those apps how many do you actually need or use.

It is time to see who is the biggest culprit for bloatware.

Edit: Removed some apps from the list. Even though apps like camera and calculator have alternatives on the app store so should be able to be removed, most of the alternatives are not that good and I was reminded that if some people were to be allowed to remove those they would be in a frenzy not knowing how to re-install them.

Those of you rooted and running a custom rom aren't going to be bloated, that is a no brainer. On my nexus 5 I'm rooted and can debloat.

The point is for those who are not rooted and are loaded with bloat. I want to see how is Google stacking with manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, LG, Motorola, etc.

I guess I don't understand your reasoning with the above list. Sure, you have all the "Google Play" apps like Play Movies, Games, Music, Newsstand....Stuff most of us don't want. BUT, your list includes the Play Store, Camera, Settings, Phone, Gmail, clock, etc... All things that actually makes a smartphone a smartphone. I can understand not wanting "some" of these, but if remove all the items you've listed above, what's the point in purchasing a smartphone[emoji780]

True some of those apps (ie phone dialer) is a must. But really apps like the camera app can be replaced by alternates in the play store. Not saying the alternates are better, but if a person wants an alternative then why not allow them to uninstall the stock app. OK I'll admit phone, calendar, clock, and settings (especially settings lol) is being extreme. But the others should be able to be uninstalled, especially on a nexus even if it is Google's phone.
But yes cr you are right that some of the apps I listed are required for the phone to function (ie phone, play store, and settings) and if Google allowed people to uninstall them then people would be in a world of hurt.

I'm totally OK with the bloat, if as you note we can dump them, not just "force stop" at best.
Obviously the apps that make the phone what it is should not be un-installable by the novice through the app drawer.

What would you say should be the minimal for us minimalists?

I say phone, settings, and play store.
In other words I would like to see 3 options during set up.

Minimalist: the 3 apps I posted
Low: where you also include camera, calculator.
Average: where you include the basics to make the phone functional.
All: all my apps from a previous phone.

Though I know that isn't going to happen. Either way I should be able to uninstall everything except for the minimalist apps.
