The capacity for human beings to imagine some wildly bizarre ideas never ceases to amaze. The latest head-scratcher from Japan is a new trend in which people take pics of themselves using live and happy, fluffy bunnies (or occasionally cats) as organic smartphone cases. I know it's tough to imagine... they don't actually carry them around, from what we can tell from these pics. They simply use them at home to prop up their smartphones in their laps.
Apparently, this "trend" apparently started as a single pic called "bunny smartphone case," that was tweeted as a joke. It was picked up and retweeted almost 40,000 times, and thus a small horde of copycats were born. We didn't include all of the images found at the source of this story, but you can see a few of them in the thread below.
It seems apparent that these are happy pets, but we certainly hope that no animals get their feelings hurt during these exploitive photos!
