Hey, sorry to be anal about this but I just wanted to discuss out the definition of "bricked" because I see the term used incorrectly over and over and over.

What bricked really means is that your phone is a brick. So in other words:

Things a brick can't do:

display information
receive user input
make sounds

Things a brick can do:

Hold down paper
prop door open
be thown through a window

It means your phone has the same fuctionality as a brick. If you can get into the recovery mode you are not bricked.

I have never heard of ANYONE ever bricking an Android phone.

Have a nice day. dancedroid

I wish I could remember the post, but there is at least ONE documented case of somebody actually "bricking' their Droid.

Other than that ONE, I've never seen or heard of anybody truly bricking a Droid.
It simply dosent happen.
There are fixes for everything

Sir you are mistaken. It is not a just a Brick, its a really expensive Brick.

For someone so anal I would expect more... :/

Bricked phone?

I am a noob and failed to unlock my bootloader before rooting, now cant get into recovery mode. I am stuck on "Failed to boot 0x1000". Taking battery out and putting it back in does not work nor does the hard reset (power button+ volume down). Any suggestions? The phone is brand new...just took it out of the box last night.

You don't need to "unlock" the bootloader to root.

What phone do you have?

Sent from my A855, while on the move.
